Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location is the fifth installment, created by Scott Cawthon and released in 2016.
This new sequel features a different storytelling and gameplay mechanics in a way that, instead of defending yourself from evil animatronics in one room, you will now be able to move to different places and complete the required tasks.
You and Michael Afton will try to survive the night, each getting progressively more difficult. If you make your way through and finish the fifth night, you’ll unlock a bonus night called Custom Night.
In Custom Night Mode, instead of facing the enemies assigned on each level, you will face a new set of animatronics using the same gameplay mechanics from the older games.
It starts in a private room where you face Ennard and defend yourself from characters trying to kill you.
More FNAF Games:
In this mode, the player will once again survive through the nights but by using the gameplay mechanics that are more reminiscent of the first games.
This means your resources will include interactive doors and cameras: use the cameras to survey and learn the movement pattern of the animatronics in different rooms and hallways.
You can shut close any door that you suspect which the demonic robots will enter from and kill you.
Aside from that, you will also have to manage your resource to keep up until sunrise. Closing the door too many times will drain your battery while the present of animatronics will drain your oxygen level.
In addition to that, Custom Night also includes new minigames that describe the fate of the main character after the event of Sister Location.
The game mode also consists of a series of new cutscenes that are considered to be part of the Five Nights at Freddy’s lore.
Returning fans of the franchise should pick up Custom Night mode in the FaNF without any problem.
As for new players, instead of moving between rooms to complete tasks to survive through the night, you will be situated in one place, the security office.
You’ll be equipped with a set of surveillance cameras to help you see the animatronic’s location. Utilize the cameras to protect yourself from the animatronics so they won’t enter the room.
Another function is that electronic doors can be closed to stop the robots. Using the map, you can learn their movement patterns and predict from which door they will enter the room.
Once you let your guard down and look the other way, Freddy Fazbear will take one step closer without you even notice.
You can use the sound of the animatronic’s movement to determine where they are by listening to the footsteps.
After all the anticipation and the wait, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location Custom Night has finally come out. As an excellent callback to the old gameplay mechanics, it’s perfect for any FNaF fans who enjoyed the older games, you’ll undoubtedly like this one too.
